Don't Make These Mistakes

Writer's picture: ChasityChasity

Here is a list of my top 5 Mistakes I have seen made over the years:

1. Failing to insure your contents:

Our storage facility is not responsible for losses of any kind and does not insure your items. Please check with your insurance agent to see if your homeowner or renter’s policy covers items placed in storage. If you think its worth storing, then it is worth insuring!

2. Storing food:

Never store food, of any kind, in any container. Long story short, it attracts pests.

3. Poorly packing and not labeling:

You do not want to use newspaper, the ink can bleed and stain your contents. Please use ink free papers and plastics. Make sure you label your boxes in detail. This will come in handy when you start moving your items out after leaving them in storage for a couple months.

4. Not having enough help and not planning enough time:

Moving is extremely stressful and it can be difficult to keep track of everything. It is essential to make sure you have enough time and help to complete your move. There is nothing worse than having closing time looming and you’re only halfway done. Rushing to pack a storage unit tends to leave things unorganized and could cause damage.

5. Not choosing the correct sized unit:

If you are not sure what sized unit you need, please let me know. Storage units are not something that the average person thinks about, but I do this on a daily basis. Ill ask you what you are storing and I can help you decide what will work best for you. If you pick a smaller unit based on price alone, that can cause problems on your move in day when you don't have enough room for everything you have.

I am here to make your experience as stress-free as possible. Avoiding these storage mistakes is one way that helps.
